  Watercolor sketch work  i involves  a quick, often loose, and spontaneous approach to combining sketching and painting to capture a subject or idea .  It can be used for planning, experimenting with techniques, and creating a finished piece, focusing on loose lines, expressive washes, and a quick process that can include ink and watercolor ('line and wash').  The focus is often on capturing the essence of a subject rather than creating a detailed, finished masterpieces.
